M.A.D LEO Camp

On 26/27/28 November 2010, Leo Club of Yuk Choy had participated in 2010 M.A.D LEO Camp held at Villa Dahlia, Cameron Highland organized by Perak Leos. We were very enjoyed in the camp. We learned many things in the camp. We found that teamwork is the most important things in the camp. We were looking forward for the next LEO Camp.

On 19th December 2009, Leos from Leo Club of Yuk Choy had attended the Leo Cabinet Installation held at Heritage Hotel, Ipoh. The theme for this event is, "SHANGHAI NITE".

The installation started at 8.00p.m after the registration. There was a quiet special guest from Phillipines, Leo Daryl Patrick Ruiz who came from Manila to attend this meaningful installation. After the arrival of Lions, Lioness and Guest of Honour, the meeting was called to order by DC Lion Alan Thoo at 8.30p.m. The meeting was adjourned at 10.30p.m.

On 4th December 2009 to 6th December 2009, Leo Club of Yuk Choy participated in the Leo Camp held at White Resort, Penang organised by Penang Leos. There were many programmes in this camp such as cooking competition, workshop, jungle trekking, team building games, seminar, and fellowship night Leo day.

On 4th December, there was a workshop by DC Lion Alan Thoo, he talked about his experience being a Leo, the importance of teamwork and played some games with us. There was a cooking competition on the first day. It was the most interesting part in the camp. There was also a sketch discussion before sleep on the first day.

On the second day of the camp, 5th December 2009, we went for jungle trekking in the morning and had some interesting team building games. After that, was a special seminar by Lion Baki Zainal about MCG2. During the fellowship night Leo day, each team were required to present a sketch with the Leo camp title “Energize Growth”.
During the last day of the camp, 6th December 2009, we woke up early to do some exercises and take part in the station game. Then it was the closing ceremony. In this camp we can learned about the importance of teamwork, broken links and the ways to achieve our goals.

Save Your Kidney..

28th November 2009, Leo Club of Yuk Choy hav a 'Save Your Kidney' function. The main objective of this function is to inform the public of the need to duard against diabetes and hypertensin, two of the major causes of the end-stage kidney failure.

VENUE: White Resort Camp, Balik Pulau, Penang

THEME: ENERGIZE GROWTH

Registration fee for Leo is RM 100.00 per person register before 15th November 2009, including 2-nights accommodation based on shared room, 2(two) breakfasts, 3(three) lunches, 1(one) dinner, 2(two) suppers & Insurance coverage during the camp. The registration will be limited for 150 pax and based on first come first serve basis.

The objectives of this camp are:
• To create and foster a spirit of understanding amongst Leos in the District 308 B2
• To instill in Leo members the safety and appreciation of the environment
• To provide activities promoting teamwork, discipline, tolerance, independence and self-endurance
• To encourage sharing of ideas throughout the District 308 B2
• To develop leadership potential among Leos

Activities such as Cooking Competition, Team-building, Treasure Hunt and Fellowship will be further value-added with other camping skills sessions like the pitching of tents, selecting campsites, and starting a fire.

We had our Leo Installation meeting at Florex Restaurant.
We checked the committee list which prepared by Leo of AMC.
Yuk Choy are taking charge of magazine and programme.

This is the first time we handle the big project.
Hence, we will give our efforts to complete it.
Besides, the theme of Yuk Choy and Poi Lam High had been chosen.

Lion Mary decided to combine both ideas into one for installation
The result is
'30 Years of Pride, We Serve'

We are glad that some of the club supported our theme.
This shows that our efforts never been wasted.

We think this is a good starting for us as a beginner.

26/06/2009 (Mini Meeting in school)

We were having our mini meeting in library. We discussed a visit function to orphanage home.
Only open for Yuk Choy leo member.

Venue: orphanage home near The Store, Jalan Kampar

Purpose of this visit function is to let the member to understand the lifestyle of orphan and opportunity to serve the society.

We also discussed about the theme of leo installation.
Our Lion Mary hope that our them will connected to the 30 anniversary.
Hence, we all board director used almost half an hour to think of it.

Finally, we had the result but there was three choices which is
'Open of Opportunity'
'We Served, We Shared, We Cared for 30 Years'
'leo for all, all of one'

15 minutes after that, we decided to choose the second one.
'We Served, We Shared, We Cared for 30 Years'
because it is meaningful and connected to 30 anniversary.

Moreover, we also designed a badge for the installation
